Stitching Tips

Our 2017 Christmas Club is in full swing! Our first piece has a technique called Basketweave Beading used on the candies. Delica Beads are the best to use to achieve the desired effect. Basketweave Beading was first  introduced by Don Lynch from Associated Talents.Below is a close up picture of the beading and instructions so you can try this fun beading technique.

Basketweave Beading

Step One: ** This is the first step for either horizontal or vertical thread
Thread beading needle and secure your beading thread to back of your canvas. Bring your needle up in lower right hole as you would for a Tent Stitch, place bead on the needle and continue down in the upper right hole.

Step Two: If covering a horizontal thread, bring needle up in the upper left hole,go through the bottom of the bead and then go down in the bottom right hole. This pulls the bead into a horizontal position.

Step Two: If covering a vertical thread, bring needle up in the lower right hole,go through the bottom of the bead and then go down in the upper left hole. This pulls the bead into a vertical position.
