Beyond Beginner's Class: Christmas Tree
Decorative stitches help bring your canvas to life!
This Beyond Beginner's Class is to introduce the participant to decorative stitching. Hand painted canvas and stitch guide by Stitch Style. The 2 hour class includes all threads and embellishments as well as 2 hour instruction on how to navigate and read a stitch guide; learn and practice suggested decorative stitches as well as learn how to compensate and add extra stitches outside the pattern for easier finishing.

| Skill Details: | This is a "Beyond Beginner's Class" which means we hope you are comfortable stitching continental and especially Basketweave. This is not a beginner's class :) |
| Materials Included: | hand painted canvas, stitch guide, threads, embellishments, stretcher bars, size 22 needle |
| Requirements: | Please bring to class the following items if you have them: scissors, needle threader, readers, portable light and/or table stand. |

| Instructor Bio: | Dawn stitched her first needlepoint belt back in the 1980s then spent the next 30 years pursuing different hobbies such as cross stitch and knitting. She rediscovered needlepoint during the pandemic and once shops reopened found Karen at Park Avenue Needlepoint. Needlepoint became a new obsession (she understands how easily needlepoint can do this and is always excited to welcome new stitchers). She began working for Karen after the shop moved to its current location in Kettering. You will hear her refer to the shop as "my happy place" and it's not unusual to see her at the shop everyday now. It's hard to keep her away! Dawn enjoys teaching and has the philosophy that everyone learns differently and she will meet you right where you are no matter where that is. |
